It's not cheap to get in, but there is plenty of memorabilia inside the country's new national shrine to sports.
The National Sports Museum opened this week in New York, featuring 100,000 square feet of artifacts from a wide variety of sports.
Partnering with 62 different Halls of Fame and sports governing bodies, the Museum has a number of historic pieces including bats, game worn Negro League jerseys and even the sports bra Brandi Chastain was wearing when the US women's soccer team earned their historic World Cup victory several years ago.
Organizers hope to attract one million visitors this year. One columnist who visited the place offers his take on it.
Here's a taste of the grand opening courtesy of MLB.com.
