The federal government's investigation into the sports memorabilia industry has moved to their turf.

Sports memorabilia dealers and employees of some major hobby businesses have been busy recently, but not with the kind of business they'd prefer to be doing.

A federal grand jury has been listening to testimony from those involved in the industry. The New York Daily News reports that records and documents have been requested and that more testimony is expected as the government begins to build its case.

Subpoenas were handed out at this year's National Sports Collectors Convention in Chicago as investigators roamed the aisles asking questions of various dealers.

Not everyone who is speaking to the grand jury is under suspicion. The goverment is collecting information from a variety of sources and the guest list has been a long one.
