NEWS FROM THE NATIONAL

Things got a little interesting  at the National Sports Collectors Convention as government agents conducted interviews and issued subpoenas.

Federal agents were walking the floor during the first two full days of the National Sports Collectors Convention--and they weren't there to buy baseball cards.

Subpoenas were handed out to some unnamed hobby executives as part of an ongoing investigation that involves the FBI and the United States Postal Service.

A spokesman for the U.S. Attorney's office wouldn't comment when contacted by Sports Collectors Daily on Friday, but did say he didn't expect any information to be released on the case for "quite a while".

The New York Daily News has more.
