It was put in a shopping bag and stuck inside a basement wall in 1958. But a little girl never forgets....
Gail Leidl was eight years old when her family lived in the house in a Minneapolis suburb. Her father was a history buff and thought he'd put together his own time capsule to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Minnesota statehood.
It wasn't fancy...but it wasn't forgotten.
The home's current owners were just minding their own business one day when a letter was stuck in their mailbox, telling the tale of the stuff hidden in their basement wall.
A joke?
Not in this case. And the since-departed Mr. Leidl must have been a baseball fan.
The Star-Tribune reports that the shopping bag full of half-century old goodies contained some 1950s baseball memorabilia. |
