OK, maybe 'historic sports memorabilia' doesn't fit the bill as well as Yankee Stadium or even Shea--but one old NBA arena is going to join the doomed stadium seat sale parade.

They all played there.

Magic. Larry. Dr. J. Michael J.

Dallas' Reunion Arena was a pretty cool place to be in the 1980s and 90s, with the upstart Mavericks giving out of town NBA visitors fits more often than not.

But the old barn was replaced by the shiny new American Airlines Arena in 2001 and now the city is planning on blowing the place up. But not before they harvest a few memories and put them up for auction.

Details are a little sketchy since Dallas city officials are still piecing things together but it looks like an auction of public inventory is a good bet for sometime next month.

Demolishing the arena will cost $6 million and take a year since there are still plenty of things to be salvaged in a 28 year-old building. The city hopes the sale of seats and other items can defray that cost.
