Well, it sounded like a good idea at the time.
If you bought a really nice, but somewhat suspicious-looking NFL jersey in recent years, there is a pretty good chance we may know where you got it.
Two Atlanta area men will don orange jumpsuits and another is on probation for importing and selling more than $2 million of counterfeit sports jerseys. The sentences were handed out Monday.
A hitch in the U.S. Army opened the door for one of the men to find a source for knock-off jerseys he brought to the U.S. and then began selling on eBay and in various other venues.
Friends joined in and a good time was had by all--until the feds began sniffing around. Amazingly, an arrest still didn't stop the ringleader from looking for ways to skirt the laws of the land. |
