Peter Calderon joins Heritage GalleriesFree agent news from the world of auction companies--veteran vintage sports card expert Peter Calderon is changing teams.

Dallas-based Heritage Auction Galleries has announced the addition of veteran vintage sports card expert Peter Calderon to its staff.

Calderon has spent the last several years with Mastro Auctions in Chicago and is regarded as one of the most knowledgeable collectors in the hobby.

"This signing illustrates our continuing dedication to becoming the industry leader in sportscards," said Chris Ivy, Director of Heritage Sports Collectibles. "Pete will be an integral player in our ascent to the top of the industry."

Calderon has been an active participant on the vintage sportscard scene for the last decade. He parlayed that experience into a position as a writer and researcher of vintage cards with Mastro Auctions, eventually becoming the head of the card department from 2005 through 2008. He has also authored both feature articles and columns for numerous Beckett Publications.

"I am tremendously pleased to be joining the Heritage team and I am looking forward to working toward making Heritage's sportscard auctions the best and most respected in the hobby," said Calderon.
