Take a trip down memory lane as Buffalo salutes the original home of the Sabres while getting ready to sell off what's left.

And...attention auction houses: they're looking for someone to run that sale.

To fans in Buffalo, it was part of the city's original pro sports history. Nowhere near state-of-the-art by today's standards, it nevertheless holds a place in the hearts of the city's fans.

Years after it went out of business as a National Hockey League venue, Memorial Auditorium, "The Aud" to locals, is back in the news. The city is finalizing plans for the sale of stadium seats and dasher boards as they prepare to tear the old building down.

Susan Gonzalez, who oversees special events in the city, told the Buffalo News that one key task is finding an auction house that can get the word out.

"A marketing plan can really take this to a different level of excitement," she said.

WIVB-TV talked to former player Rene Robert and dug up some old video to spice up the city's news conference announcing the memorabilia sale.
