A Wichita, Kansas sports bar known for its collection of vintage sports memorabilia was the victim of a well-planned robbery.

A 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle, two autographed Babe Ruth baseballs and some championship rings are among the items police are looking for after a Midwestern sports bar was robbed early Wednesday.

Police in Wichita, Kansas are on the lookout for a 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle, two autographed Babe Ruth baseballs and other items. The crime happened just after closing at Players Sports Bar.

Glass display cases were broken and some of the better items owner Dave Chaffin had on display were taken. One valuable item fell on the floor as a thief smashed his way through to the items that were part of Chaffin's collection.

It's a long way from Cleveland, but dealers at the National Sports Collectors Convention might want to be on the lookout in case flipping the items is part of what appears to be a well planned crime.
