Tony Romo Signs Autograph Deal With Upper Deck

Tony Romo pictures and #9 Cowboys jerseys are now stacked up in Upper Deck's headquarters after the quarterback inked an exclusive autograph deal.

Little kids in Texas call him Tony Cowboys. Jessica Simpson calls him 'dear' (we're guessing).

Upper Deck now calls him a business partner.

The trading card and memorabilia giant has signed the Cowboys' popular quaterback to its stable of exclusive athletes. Upper Deck calls terms of the agreement 'confidential', but safe to say it's a seven-figure deal.

“Tony Romo is one of the most popular players in the NFL, so for Upper Deck to land a player of Tony’s caliber and celebrity status is certainly a big win for us,” said Tim Muret, vice president of Upper Deck Authenticated (UDA), the company’s memorabilia division. “We are very excited about starting an exclusive relationship with Tony. The fact that he plays for ‘America’s Team’ doesn’t hurt, either.”

Since taking over the reins as Dallas’s starting quarterback during the 2006 season, Romo has led the Cowboys back to prominence in the NFL. Owner of the best passer rating in the NFC in 2007, he makes wise choices in the pocket and consistently delivers solid performances. Currently, Romo has the Cowboys off to a 3-0 start. Last year, he set single-season club records for touchdown throws (36) and passing yards (4,211).

Romo will be signing an assortment of football items for Upper Deck including authentic Dallas Cowboys jerseys (home white, away blue and alternate white/blue) for $749.99 each; NFL Wilson "The Duke" footballs ($549.99); authentic Cowboys helmets ($669.99); mini-helmets ($424.99); and you'll also see Tony Romo pictures in 16” x 20” ($399.99) and 8” x 10” ($369.99) sizes.

The items are being sold through the Upper Deck Store.

Upper Deck says additional Romo-autographed items including limited, specially-inscribed pieces will be available shortly.

Upper Deck Authenticated already has longstanding exclusive relationships with players as Michael Jordan, Ken Griffey Jr., Albert Pujols, Tiger Woods, Kobe Bryant and LeBron James.
