Those involved in emptying the two doomed New York stadiums know there are collectors with space available and fans with money to spend.

Stadium seat and artifact sales aren't new but sports memorabilia companies getting involved in the process is a bit of a new concept--one that might show a growing respect for big hobby businesses.

MeiGray group has just over two weeks to gather up every portable piece of Shea Stadium and ship it off to buyers.

Steiner Sports is hoping it will get that chance once the Yankees and the city of New York finalize plans for that Stadium's artifacts.

The Yankee and Shea Stadium sales have gotten a lot of attention, especially now that there isn't any actual baseball taking place inside the two ballparks. Barry Meisel of MeiGray and Brandon Steiner of Steiner Sports talk with NY1 Tv's Shazia Khan about turning old stadiums into memorabilia mines.
