ImageUpper Deck company has made another arrangement with a deceased baseball icon's relatives.

Upper Deck has reached an agreement with the Roger Maris estate to put Maris autographed and game-used memorabilia cards in packs of its 2010 baseball products.

“Maris was an amazing player who lived in the shadows of other legends until that special season in 1961,” said Gabriel Garcia, Upper Deck’s baseball brand manager. “His achievements cannot be disputed and as a storied member of the Bronx Bombers, he remains in high demand with collectors. In particular, we’re excited about some combo opportunities with Roger Maris and Joe DiMaggio together on the same card.”

Maris, of course, is best known for breaking one of the most storied records of all-time by besting Babe Ruth’s single-season home run mark with 61 in 1961. He was a two-time American League MVP (1960 and ’61) and finished his career with three World Series rings.

Upper Deck announced a similar deal with the Roberto Clemente estate last week. The company will rely on its ability to include retired and deceased Hall of Famers in its products after MLB allowed Topps to become the exclusive licensee of MLB-branded baseball cards beginning next year.
