Philly Show Returns for 101st Running |

One of the sports collecting hobby's longest running shows returns next weekend with dealers, authenticators and autograph guests lined up.
The Philadelphia Sportscard & Memorabilia show returns to the Valley Forge Convention Center in King of Prussia, PA March 13th-15th. Dating back to the 1970s and always a favorite among long-time collectors and dealers, next weekend's show will be the 101st.
Baseball great Willie Mays will headline the roster of baseball autograph guests Saturday, March 14th, including Willie McCovey, Frank Robinson, Larry Christianson, and Marty Bystrom.
Jim Rice, who was recently elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame, will join Robin Roberts, Dickie Noles, and USA Softball star Jennie Finch on Sunday, March 15th. While pricing for each signer varies, Bystrom and another former Phillie, Dickie Noles, will be providing free autographs with the price of admission.
150 dealers will be set up at an event that usually produces solid sales and some top notch vintage sports collectibles usually finding their way into showcases, but Hunt Auctions, which has taken over the event, is keeping it a family affair.
"The show floor will showcase both modern and vintage cards, wax packs, inexpensive souvenir items for kids, as well as high end pieces from some of the top auction firms and dealers around the country," said show manager Paul Kutch.
The show will also host a handful of nationally recognized authentication and grading firms, giving attendees the opportunity to have their own collectibles evaluated by on-site experts.
Established in 1975 as the Philadelphia Sports Card & Memorabilia Show, the event is better known more simply as "The Philly Show." Held in the Fort Washington Expo Center for many years before moving to Reading, PA, the show was purchased in the fall of 2008 by Hunt, which is based in nearby Exton, PA.
The Philadelphia Sportscard & Memorabilia Show will take place Friday, March 13th from 5pm-9pm, Saturday, March 14th, from 9am-5pm, and Sunday, March 15th, from 9am-4pm. Admission is $7 per day, or $18 for a weekend pass. Children under 8 are free. Tickets may be purchased at the door. Pricing varies for autograph tickets.
