Jeremy MayfieldJeremy Mayfield is selling off some of his racing memorabilia. And a house. And a cabin. And some guns. And some property. And some tractors. And a barn. And....

It's been an interesting year for for former NASCAR driver Jeremy Mayfield. The Kentucky native was accused of taking meth by NASCAR executives that's led to various court battles, got into a nasty, name-calling spat with his stepmom and his former attorney says he owes him "a lot" of money.

He's selling off hundreds of items including 475 acres of property, a 13,000 square-foot home undergoing renovation, race-used helmets and suits, pieces of wrecked cars and autographed items. The Iron Horse Auction Company is holding the sale at the property in North Carolina, but bidders can also participate online. Mayfield is a fan of auctions himself, often attending local events and buying items to re-sell.

He's also selling race-used gloves, signed die-cast cars, his ticket to the 2002 NASCAR banquet and other memorabilia. Those items, however, will pale in comparison to the big ticket items--a huge list of property that showcases the trappings of a racing star's life. From motor homes to car haulers, custom cars and motorcycles, tractors, construction equipment and the property itself, it's clear Mayfield made a good life for himself during his decade-long NASCAR career.

Mayfield house for auction“This is one of the finest farms we have ever sold,” said auctioneer Will Lilly. “This property has it all - executive homes, a log cabin, lakes, rolling pastures, an equine facility and creeks running through a large portion of the property. The property is secluded and strategically located, only minutes from Lake Norman & I-77.”

In all, more than 700 lots of the Mayfield’s personal assets will cross the auction block in a live auction webcast. Proxibid will provide live online bidding for the November 20 auction.

A local TV station has an interview with the former Evernham Motorsports racer:
