Louisville Slugger and Major League Baseball are again teaming up to give a pink aura to this Sunday's games--and collectors should have plenty of bats to bid on.

Louisville Slugger bat makers have been busy.

For the fourth straight year, Major League Baseball players will be swinging pink colored bats on Mother's Day and the bat maker has been churning out the special lumber to help fight breast cancer.

Lance Berkman swings a pink batOver 240 MLB players have requested pink bats and while not all will see game action, many will find their way onto the diamond this Sunday and then be turned over to MLB Auctions.

2009 marks the fourth year for the Mother's Day bat promotion and Louisville Slugger is once again donating the bats. Since 2006, the company has given over $100,000 worth of bats for the effort.

MLB is also expected to use other special pink-themed game-used items that will also be for sale after Mother's Day.

Going to Bat Against Breast Cancer raises money for the Susan G. Komen Foundation. In conjunction with the game-used bat auction, fans can purchase personalized pink Slugger bats via Louisville Slugger and in Major League Baseball stadiums across the country. $10 of each sale goes toward the fight against breast cancer. MLB has raised nearly $1 million since the program's inception.
