A rare appearance by Mario LeMieux drew plenty of hockey fans and collectors to the Toronto Sportscard and Memorabilia Expo.

Like a lot of modern era sports stars, he doesn't need to do autograph shows. Not for the money, anyway. That's why unless you're willing to catch him in a quiet moment without a crowd around, it's not easy to grab an autograph from NHL legend Mario LeMieux. This weekend it was much easier.

LeMieux was one of the featured guests at the twice-a-year Toronto Sportscard and Memorabilia Expo. It was only the second card show anyone could recall for the former Pittsburgh Penguin.

LeMieux wasn't cheap. Prices started at a Joe Montana-like $179, but there were dozens willing to shell out close to a thousand bucks for a little personal time with him--including a couple of extra autographs.

The Toronto Star was there to offer up some coverage.
