The editors of a new baseball book sifted through mountains of memorabilia in the Library of Congress to make history come alive.
We recently introduced you to "Baseball America: Treasures from the Library of Congress". The new book has been well received and considering the undertaking, it's no surprise.
The book's editors spent hours going through photos and historical memorabilia inside the Library to tell the story of baseball from the 18th century to the present. Of course, they had connections.
 Editor Harry Katz used to work there and Frank Ceresi is a well known collector who created the memorabilia displays inside the Washington Nationals' home ballpark.
Both men, though, weren't expecting to see what they did when they began poring over the Library's archives. Plenty of photos most fans never get to see including one of an unconscious Babe Ruth and the original pictures used in the production of the T205 tobacco card set.
Katz, a Del Mar, California resident, talked with the North County Times about the book, which has just been released.
