Derek Jeter passed Lou Gehrig for first on the all-time Yankees hit list over the weekend. Now, Steiner Sports has him signing some new items.
On the heels of Derek Jeter eclipsing Lou Gehrig for the Yankees all-time hits record last Friday, Steiner Sports Memorabilia has unveiled a line of new products commemorating the event, including some of the game-used items from last Saturday's record-breaking game.
Jeter will be autographing balls, photos and jerseys that will include the "2,722" and "9/11/09" notations. Prices generally range from $500-1,000. Steiner will also be producing engraved limited edition bats signed by Jeter.
Several items from the Yankees-Steiner Collectibles line will commemorate the
record-breaking hit, including the game-used bases and a framed autographed photo with Yankee Stadium dirt affixed to the picture. In addition, fans who
attended the game can send their tickets in to be framed in a commemorative collage.
"For over a decade, our exclusive relationship with Derek Jeter has given us
the opportunity to offer fans products that celebrate Derek's memorable
moments," said Brandon Steiner, founder and CEO of Steiner Sports. "We're
pleased to provide mementos that truly capture a milestone in both Derek's
career and in Yankees history."
A portion of proceeds on the sale of all Derek Jeter collectibles benefit The
Turn 2 Foundation, which creates and supports signature programs and activities that motivate young people to turn away from drugs and alcohol and "Turn 2" healthy lifestyles. Through the years, Steiner Sports has helped to generate nearly $3 million for the foundation.
