Read the story of how one U.S. Marine perusing eBay launched a multi-million dollar business.

If you like selling baseball cards or other types of sports memorabilia online, you've probably discovered a few ways to make money. Maybe a little--enough to support your own card collecting habit. Maybe a lot if you've got the right business touch and are willing to hustle.

The internet has opened thousands of doors for regular people in all different sorts of ways. Take the case of Jeffrey Morin.

He's a 27 year-old from Stafford, Virginia who was aboard an amphibious assault ship seven years ago, serving in the United States Marine Corps. During some down time, he hopped on one of the ship's computers and began surfing eBay. He noticed civilians paying over 100% more for commemorative military coins than he could buy them for at the base store back home.

The rest, as they say, is history. Morin took a simple concept and made a huge business out of it in just a few years. Read about it in the Washington Post. It may not be a sports collecting story--but it's worth reading about just to show the potential for online success even if you're not a well-financed start-up company.
