There will be no pennant this year, but the Mets continue to bank on collectors and fans shopping for game-used gear at Citi Field.

Jose Reyes got hurt.

David Wright got beaned.

Mets fans expecting big things in the team's first year post-Shea Stadium got a huge dose of disappointment.

2009 was not a year to write home about--or even write about at all. When it comes to marketing, though, there are no off days. The team looks to its game-worn memorabilia to make a few extra bucks and fans and collectors in the city are still stopping by the game-worn gear tables during the final month of the home schedule.

“Obviously, when you start the process, you can’t anticipate how things would unfold,” team exec Dave Howard told the New York Times. “But there’s still a high level of interest.”

The Times paid a visit to chronicle what was for sale.
