We've got more coverage on the 'divine find' of T206 cards that will be applied to a church organ repair bill.
David Smith is a mini celebrity in eastern Pennsylvania these days.
The Catholic church volunteer recently pulled a bunch of T206 baseball cards out of a dresser drawer. They had belonged to his father, but he was ready to turn them over to the church which was seeking to repair its 19th century organ that had been damaged several years ago.
Much to his surprise--and thanks to someone who saved them from going cheap--they were worth a lot more than he thought.
The cards have been graded now, and turned over to Hunt Auctions for the All-Star FanFest sale in St. Louis.
It's become quite a story in the local media. The Philadelphia Inquirer had a column on it Thursday. The ABC affiliate carried a story on the donation earlier this week.
