Buffalo is holding an auction for its ancient sports arena leftovers, but most of it walked off long before they realized it could be sold.
Yankee Stadium's memorabilia is still waiting for the city and team to hash out the details of who gets what percentage. Shea Stadiium seats and other ballpark collectibles are currently being sold off for big bucks.

So what happened to the arena that was once a favorite of another New York city?

Not much.

The Memorial Auditorium, fondly called The Aud by Buffalo natives, sat empty for several years after the city built a new building to house the Sabres. The Aud was once home to that NHL franchise and the NBA's old Buffalo Braves.

But while the city prepares to sell off the few items that are left, come to find out that like Elvis, a lot of the good stuff has already left the building.

The Buffalo News reports that for awhile, it wasn't that hard to walk in and haul away what you wanted.
