Looking for a Super Bowl weekend getaway?
Beckett Grading Services (BGS) and James Spence Authentication will host their first annual Card Grading and Autograph Authentication event Saturday, January 31 in Dallas, TX.
Beckett and JSA combined forces last year to begin offering customers a joint autograph authentication and card grading service for sports collectibles.
The goal of the event, according to BGS is to "demystify the art of grading and authentication".
The event will include a series of free seminars benefiting collectors who want to know about what makes cards valuable and the techniques of modern card grading, vintage card grading, autograph grading and autograph authentication. After an introductory session, BGS will open the session to questions and answers enabling both neophyte and advanced collectors the chance to discuss grading trends, issues and other matters of interest.
Members of Beckett's RoadShow team will also be on site to give collectors a complimentary review and informal valuation of their sports cards and memorabilia. Collectors will receive a Certificate of Review for their item plus guidance on how to best preserve, protect and sell their items.
With the seminars and memorabilia reviews, attendees can also bring their sports collectibles to the event for in-person submissions as well as while-you-wait grading, authentication, and encapsulation services.
The free event will be hosted at the Beckett Media headquarters in Dallas from 9 am to 3 pm. Beckett asks collectors to RSVP by January 28.
