Collectors and fans in St. Louis are getting up close and personal with some rare baseball artifacts.

Even the Hall of Fame gets a surprise once in awhile.

One of its oldest jerseys has been pegged to an historic season thanks to the curiosity of a guest. The artifact is one of more than 100 items on display at the All-Star Fan Fest in St. Louis right now.

The memorabilia is actually part the Hall's collection, but each year the Cooperstown crew goes on the road to the city that hosts the midsummer classic, giving fans who might never get to the Hall a chance to see some pieces of baseball history.

Auction houses would drool over the items that are on display.

MLB.com has the scoop.
