The last big sports card and memorabilia show of 2008 hits the Chicago area later this month.

The Chicago Sun-Times sports card show returns to the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center Friday, November 21 through Sunday, November 23. From NFL superstars to baseball legends, athletes from a wide range of sports will be on hand to sign memorabilia.

Dreams Inc., the parent company of Mounted Memories and Schwartz Sports who are co-producing the show, acquired the 16-year-old collectibles show in September 2007, aiming to provide a bigger guest list and more services for dealers and attendees.

“The Chicago Sun-Times Sports Collectible Show is one of the great mainstay shows in the Chicago area,” said Brian Schwartz, president of Schwartz Sports. “Through our strategic relationships with athletes and their managers, we plan on continually offering high-quality stars that people want to meet.”

Friday night includes Chicago Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher, one of the NFL’s greatest wide receivers, Jerry Rice, Chicago Cubs star catcher Geovany Soto and former Major League Baseball star and “Mr. Cub” Ernie Banks.

Former Detroit Piston Isiah Thomas, Chicago Cub great Andre Dawson, former Bears' star Gale Sayers, 2008 NFL Hall of Fame inductee Art Monk and two Olympic softball champions—Cat Osterman and Jennie Finch will appear on Saturday. In addition, there will be a “Salute to the 1972 Undefeated Miami Dolphins,” including Coach Don Shula, Mercury Morris, Earl Morrall, Larry Little and Paul Warfield.

Sunday includes baseball's Dwight Gooden, Dave Winfield, Evan Longoria, Whitey Ford, Matt Holliday, Ryan Theriot and Eddie Murray. Also featured are two pairings from classic moments in World Series history including Mookie Wilson and Bill Buckner (1986) and Kirk Gibson and Dennis Eckersley (1988).

“This show is a mecca for sports fans, and we always look forward to providing them with the opportunity to meet their biggest idols,” said Mitch Adelstein, president of Mounted Memories.

Hours for the show are: Friday, November 21 from 5 pm to 9:30 pm, Saturday, November 22 from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm and Sunday, November 23 from 9:30 am to 4 pm. Prices for autographed memorabilia vary.
