Appraisal Fair Kicks off Slugger Auction |

The annual Louisville Slugger Museum auction brings in collectors--but also those with valuable pieces of baseball memorabilia they're looking to sell.
Hunt Auctions has returned to the home of America's baseball bats for its big sports memorabilia auction.
Items in the 850+ lot auction include a Ty Cobb professional model baseball bat c.1925-28 (est. $40,000-$60,000), a Jackie Robinson professional model baseball bat c.1950-51 ($40,000-$50,000), 1978 Thurman Munson road jersey (est. $20,000-$30,000), and a 1919 Babe Ruth and Ty Cobb autographed baseball ($15,000-$20,000).
There is also a 1954 Wilson Franks Ted Williams, graded SGC 88. One of only two to reach the near mint level on SGC's scale, the card carries a $30,000-40,000 pre-sale estimate.
But first things first.
The company spends the first couple of days welcoming the public to the Louisville Slugger Museum and Factory with a free appraisal fare. Every year fans drive from miles around to find out if what they've got is auction worthy. Much of it is.
Watch as WAVE3, the NBC affiliate in Louisville stopped by Wednesday morning to get a peek at some autographed baseballs and the big Kahuna of Saturday's auction--the last road uniform worn by Babe Ruth.
