Retro jersey maker Mitchell & Ness has turned the 25th anniversary of Michael Jordan's NBA debut into a collectible.
 Philadelphia-based throwback specialist Mitchell & Ness launched its limited edition Michael Jordan rookie jersey on Monday.
The $375 jerseys come folded in a black box with two steel plates inside. One serves as the certificate of authenticity while the other is numbered from 1-1264 representing the number of NBA games in which Jordan played. That plate also includes details about the game that corresponds to that number.
It's actually the second M&N release of a Jordan rookie jersey. The company also sold 500 similar models in Las Vegas awhile ago, but the new edition is the one Jordan collectors and even NBA players who collect Jordan have been pointing to. The current release is entitled "The Moment the Game Changed".
Released Monday at 7:30 PM Eastern time, the exact time when Jordan began his career with the Chicago Bulls in 1984, the Mitchell & Ness Chicago Bulls Michael Jordan Limited Edition 1984-85 Authentic Rookie Jersey is being sold through the NBA store. |
