Topps says it's planning some "enhancements" to its 2009 Sterling Baseball product, set to release later this year.
Topps promises to beef up its packs of 2009 Sterling as the company prepares its high-end baseball card product for release in December.
* Every pack now includes an extra hit. Packs now feature an Autographed Relic or Relic #’d to 10 or less plus an additional Relic #’d to 25. Collectors will still get three sequentially numbered base cards and Mystery Pack featuring either a cut signature or #’d parallel card.
* Every 10-pack case guarantees a Cut Signature card.
* All packs are now "themed". No more player specific names on packs. Look for themes such as “Triple Crown Winners”, “Sterling Americana”, “Chart Hall of Fame Members” etc.
 * Content added with no price change. Ruth, Cobb, Robinson, Mantle and other Hall of Famers will be featured on some cards. The company has released an image of the Babe Ruth autographed swatch card it is putting inside one pack.
2009 Topps Sterling Baseball ships late December. Each 10-card pack case guarantees:
· 5 Autographed Cards #’d to 10 or less
· 5 Relic Cards #’d to 10 or less
· 10 Relic Cards #’d to 25
· 1 Cut Signature Card
· One 1 of 1 Card
