What Does Hall of Fame Think of Vote756.com?

Most of us over 30 had never heard of Marc Ecko until he bought Barry Bonds' 756th home run ball and revealed himself to the world.

The wealthy young hip hop fashion designer has left it up to fans to decide the ball's future. His novel idea is generating plenty of opinion and a lot of votes.

USA Today columnist Jon Saraceno explored the idea--and tried to find out of the Baseball Hall of Fame is still interested in getting the ball.

Meanwhile, SCP Auctions, which sold the ball, didn't know anything about Ecko's plan until the rest of us found out when he announced his plans on the Today Show.

"I think serious collectors would probably not be in favor of marring or destroying the ball,'' auction director Dan Imler told the Associated Press. "Most people we deal with, they have an appreciation for the history of the game as opposed to the sensationalism or anything like that.''
