Topps' Board of Directors may have given Upper Deck the cold shoulder again, but that doesn't mean a deal won't happen.

Collectors and dealers who would prefer to see Topps sold to someone other than a competitor breathed a sigh of relief Monday morning when the Topps' Board came out against recommending shareholders vote in favor of Upper Deck's higher offer. Topps apparently would still prefer their agreement with Michael Eisner's group go forward.

Upper Deck's higher offer is not to be sneezed at, though and one financial blogger can still see the California card-maker winning out.
