..and you thought his rookie cards were pricey.
LaDanian Tomlinson is a bit of a collector himself so maybe it isn't surprising he's got something on eBay. LT is a Walter Payton fanatic--owning a framed jersey and helmet from the late Chicago Bears' Hall of Famer. This week, though, Tomlinson --or at least one of his business partners--is a seller, not a buyer.
San Diego automotive dealer Witt Lincoln Mercury is selling the 2006 Lincoln Mark LT truck that the San Diego Chargers' running back drove last season.
The decked-out, white four-door truck was part of an endorsement deal Tomlinson had with the dealership. The eBay auction runs until next Monday morning and starts at $45,000 with a Buy it Now price of $55,000. Tomlinson will autograph the dashboard for the winning bidder. According to the listing, LT’s Mark LT had an original MSRP of $47,660 which included:
- 4X4
- Ceramic White Tri-Coat Paint
- Light Parchment/Pebble Interior Color
- 6-Disc CD Changer
- Satellite Radio
- Reverse Sensing System
- Trailer Tow Package
- Power Sliding Rear Window
- Power Moonroof
- Skid Plates
- Chrome Running Boards
- Power Adjustable Pedals
In addition to the original factory equipment, “LT” had his vehicle personalized by adding the following accessories:
- 26” Giovanna Chrome Wheels - $7400
- Pirelli Tires P305/30/26 - $2600
- Dyna Mat Kit (interior noise reducer) - $425
- Magna Flow Exhaust - $500
- 3” Lowering Kit - $500
- DVD-Amp-15” screen - $6200
- Tonneau Cover (custom painted) - $2749
- Installed Carpet Kit for truck bed - $971
Tomlinson also added some special paint, which the dealership said brings the total investment in the vehicle to $69,530.
LT didn't burn up the engine. The odometer sits at 16,000 miles according to the dealer's record.
“This is the truck that he drove the year he made NFL history,” says dealership owner Ed Witt. “This is the vehicle he drove to all the practices and all the games.
There is probably some L.T. DNA in it.”
Witt expects bids to be made by fans beyond San Diego but says he's hoping the buyer will be a local fan who will drive the truck to Chargers games and shows it off.
What's LT driving now? According to Witt, he replaced the truck with a 2007 Navigator L with a custom black paint job.
