For years, card show promoters and autograph dealers have tried to find Jake Scott. The former Miami Dolphins' safety has been seen about as often as Halley's Comet, avoiding 1972 team reunions and other football functions.
He was a huge part of the Miami Dolphins' success in the early and mid-1970s. One of the best players ever to put on an NFL uniform. But you won't see him even when some of his former teammates are together at an autograph session. Jake Scott doesn't need football--or money-- anymore.
He's just happy living a low-key life on a remote stretch of island in his own Hawaiian paradise.
He's made a couple of card show appearances and Scott autographs aren't rare. Great Moments Authentics got him to sit down and sign some things which they're selling, but he's not keen about the whole thing.
One writer managed to track him down, though, and found out he's really a pretty good guy who just prefers to stay put.
