He may be downplaying the tie with Dan Marino for career touchdown passes, but that doesn't mean Brett Favre won't be ready to put Sharpie to memorabilia when the record falls.
One of the NFL's most hallowed records is about to change hands. The notion hasn't been lost on those who look out for Brett Favre's off-the-field interests. Favre's marketing people already have deals in place to sell limited edition autographed items featuring Favre and Dan Marino.
After tossing three against the San Diego Chargers Sunday, It's a decent bet Favre will break the tie with the Miami Dolphins' Hall of Famer for most career touchdown passes when the Packers meet the Minnesota Vikings next weekend.
Favre's website is already pre-selling 16x20 photos and footballs ($699.00) carrying Favre and Marino autographs. The items, limited to 413 pieces each, will be signed and shipped approximately 30 days after Favre breaks the record of 420 touchdown passes.
Autographed balls bearing Farve and John Elway autographs are also available on the site ($669). In Green Bay's win over the New York Giants September 16, Favre passed Elway for most career wins by a starting quarterback.
