Overshadowed by the home run baseballs, a group of vintage sports cards and memorabilia attracted bidders too.

Over 1,200 lots were sold by SCP Auctions in its sale last week contributing to a sales total topping $2.6 million.

David Kohler, President & CEO of SCP Auctions, said: “We are thrilled with the response to this sale. The diversity and quality of the material attracted a broad range of collectors. The competition was strong throughout most categories resulting in a number of record prices.”

The results were particularly strong within the card portion of the sale, which included nearly every vintage baseball issue ever produced including early tobacco cards, Goudeys, Play Balls, early Topps and early Bowmans, in addition to football, boxing and non-sports issues. Some of the card highlights include;
