Did they play golf in the 1600s? You bet your sweet putter they did. Jeffery Ellis has clubs that old. Now he's selling what's described as the world's best collection of golf clubs...$4 million worth at least.

In 1974, Jeffery Ellis walked into a Milwaukee Goodwill store and walked out with an old golf club. Little did he know he was starting the world's most wide-ranging and historically important collection of its kind.

Next weekend, however, his long journey comes to an end when the collection goes on the Sotheby's auction block. Total take is expected to be over $4 million. His clubs chronicle the history of the game and many of them were made by some of the game's most famous pioneers. It's like having all of Alexander Cartwright's bats. So why is he selling?
