How High Will it Go?

The 'jumbo' T206 Honus Wagner is on the block for the first time in nearly five years and if early bidding is any indication, it will blow past what it sold for then-- a none too shabby $1.62 million.   As publicity intensifies for the PSA 5 (MC) graded 'holy grail', bidding has surged more than $280,000 in 48 hours.  The card, being sold by Goldin Honus Wagner T206 PSA 5 MCAuctions, stands at $885,781--before the 10-12.5% buyer's premium that will be tacked on at the end.

You'll hear the words 'Honus Wagner auction' many times before the action comes to a close.

One of the best known authentic examples of the hobby's famous cards, it's beyond the reach of most collectors.

Wagner cards, however, are never a dull subject for the sports media.
