Those who appreciate high grade sports cards and have the resources to pay whatever it takes to get them aren't alone. Collectors of rare memorabilia in other fields are driving prices up.
Collectibles were once considered more of a curiosity. An 'error' card was collected because it was just different. The same once held true in stamps, coins and other hobbies.
