Graded 1971 Topps set sells for $10K

A 1971 Topps baseball card set with all cards graded PSA 7 and 8 sold for $10,000 Sunday.

1971 Topps cards are notoriously tough to find in high grade, but enough of them are out there that a complete set graded PSA 7 (near mint) and 8 (nm-mint) ranks only 16th on the company's set registry. That set sold Sunday through an eBay auction for $10,000. There was only one bid.

The seller was based in Huntington, WV and listed the set with 494 cards having reached the PSA 7 grade with 258 PSA 8s. That averages out to about $13.12 per card.
