Game-Worn Nebraska Jerseys=$100K
A throwback jersey auction generated huge interest at the University of Nebraska.
It beats selling pom poms.
The University of Nebraska’s special fund raising auction for some 1960s-style jerseys ended Wednesday with some major sports memorabilia auction-like bidding.
When it was over, the school had sold every jersey it offered and taken in fresh cash totalling over $100,000.
Husker fans and collectors weren’t shy about snapping up dozens of the 2009 game-worn shirts that were donned by players in commemoration of the team’s 300th consecutive home sellout, a streak that started way back in 1962.
