In The Game Will Put Vintage Hockey Rookie Cards into Upcoming Product

In the Game announced Thursday that it would produce a product called “History of Hockey”, which will include vintage rookie cards randomly inserted in packs. Among the cards that will be available for pulling are a 1966-67 Topps Bobby Orr, 1911 C-55 George Vezina, 1951-52 Parkhurst Gordie Howe and 1958-59 Topps Bobby Hull.

George Vezina Rookie Card 1911ITG President Dr. Brian Price, a noted collector himself, wrote that putting the product together for distribution will be “a labor of love”.

Price says each pack will contain four cards: 1 Greatest Moments in Hockey History card, 1 authentic rookie card, 1 Autographed Card (Authenticated by PSA/DNA) and 1 Buy Back card from older ITG products (the company has been around since 1998).

Bobby Orr History of Hockey cardMore information will be released in the upcoming weeks but Price says History of Hockey will feature the combination vintage game used memorabilia paired with stunning original artwork including 1/1 hand-painted cards by Jared Kelley.

Other rookie cards planted in the product are those of George Vezina, Terry Sawchuk, Maurice Richard, Sidney Crosby, Jacques Plante, Alex Ovechkin and thousands of others.

Product will be allocated to direct dealers and distributors based on order placed on ITG’s other products over the last year.

ITG says it will release additional information on History of Hockey in the coming weeks. There’s no word yet on an exact release date.
