It’s the time of year when young prospects start making their way to the big leagues and that means a heads up for card companies and collectors.
With Bryce Harper and Yu Darvish gaining most of the attention over the last couple of months, Topps has announced plans for a couple of other headline-grabbers.
Will Middlebrooks, Red Sox, 3B
- Middlebrooks has been announced as the 2012 Bowman Lucky Redemption # 3. Collectors redeeming for this card will receive an on-card auto of the rookie star.
- Collectors can also find his autograph in the upcoming Topps Finest, Bowman Chrome, Topps Updates, the all-new Five Star and Bowman Sterling.
Trevor Bauer, Diamondbacks, P
- Bauer is getting the call to the show on Thursday and you’ll find his first Autographed Rookie Cards in Topps Finest.
- The top prospect will also be signing for Topps Chrome, Triple Threads, Bowman Chrome, Topps Updates, Five Star and Bowman Sterling.
Anthony Rizzo, Cubs, 1B
- Rizzo started for the Cubs on Tuesday night and went 2 for 4. He was in the lineup again in the team’s loss to the Mets and went 1-for-4. Rizzo had been tearing up the minor leagues and collectors can find his autographs in the recently-released Tier One and the upcoming Triple Threads, Topps Updates and Five Star.
