Feller Recalls Trip to ’34 World Series

{mosimage}Hall of Famer Bob Feller is still spry at 80-something…and still has fresh teenage memories of travelling to see the Tigers and Cardinals in the 1934 World Series. "I think I can pitch against those guys," said young Bob.

Bob Feller grew up in Iowa and by age 16, he was already a pitching prospect. Rapid Robert and his Dad motored up to Sportsman’s Park in October of ’34 and watched Dizzy Dean and the Gashouse Gang battle the Tigers. Just two years later, he would be a major leaguer himself.

Feller shared his memories with the Baseball Hall of Fame.
