New Jersey Devils game-worn jerseys, featuring "PB" memorial patches in honor of the late Pat Burns and autographed by the entire team, are being auctioned off for charity at auction.nhl.com. Proceeds will be donated in Burns' memory to La Maison Aube-Lumiere, a cancer hospice in Sherbrooke, Que.
Burns, who coached the Devils to the 2003 Stanley Cup Championship, and served as a member of the team's coaching staff the past eight seasons, passed away on November 19 after a courageous bout with cancer.
The minimum opening bid on each jersey is set at $250 (U.S.).
Twenty-two jerseys, worn by Devils' players who appeared in at least one of the following four games are available: November 22 vs. Washington, November 24 vs. Calgary, November 27 vs. Philadelphia, and December 2 vs. Montreal.
The 2½" diameter black patch features "PB" in white stitching and was worn on the upper right chest. Each jersey was authenticated by the New Jersey Devils-MeiGray game-worn jersey authentication program.
