Players are finding there’s more than just pride and satisfaction from making it to a bowl game.
From i-Pods to flat screen TVs to suntan lotion and beach towels, college football players come out of their bowl trips with bags of goodies. The NCAA allows this normally verboten practice. The bowl goodie bags are allowed to have a value of $500 per player. With each team receiving 125 gift packages, that adds up to $62,500 in gifts for each school.
And of course winners often receive championship rings, which they sometimes sell on eBay.
