Autographed Baseball Collection Now a World Record

One man’s autographed baseball collection is now in the Guinness Book of World Records.  Dennis Schrader owns over 4,400 signed balls, all on display in the spare bedroom of his Odessa, FL home.

In September, London-based Guinness certified that Schrader’s “Little Cooperstown,” was worthy of the title, although we’re not quite certain how extensive their research was.

It’s hard to argue that Schrader’s collection isn’t mind-boggling, though.  He started collecting baseballs in 1956 as a youngster going to spring training games.   That’s when he got Mickey Mantle’s autograph on a ball and the rest his history.

In 55 years, he’s added dozens of Hall of Famers, regular Joes, theme balls and virtually anyone else who’s had an impact on the game.
