After 61 Years Topps Still Believes in Magic

In 1948, Topps introduced Magic football and began a six decade relationship with the NFL. After a 61 year hiatus, Topps resurrected the product in 2009 and it was an immediate hit with set collectors and those looking to bust an inexpensive product.  Now in its fourth year, 2013 Topps Magic Football is aiming to deliver quality base cards, interesting inserts, and a surprising quantity of hits.

Manuel 2013 Topps Magic footballCombining a checklist of 220 current stars intermixed with legends and rookies ensures that whether a collector is a fan of a team or a player, they should be satisfied.  110 of the base cards will be short printed.  With a total of 330 players on the checklist, this set affords collectors of certain teams and players to acquire cards of individuals not offered in other sets.

Eddie Lacy Topps Magic MiniEvery base card will have a mini parallel reminiscent of the original 1951 issue.  In addition, there will be a mini base card  (including the short prints) parallel with green bordered, black bordered, blue bordered, and red bordered (#’d to 50) versions.

25 of the top running backs in the league will be featured in a new insert set Ground & Pound. Aerial Attack is new as well in 2013 and will include 25 prominent quarterbacks. Topps 2013 Magic Bo Jackson autoThe 2013 checklist includes up to 150 player autographs with black bordered (#’d to 5) and red bordered (1/1) parallels.  There will also be up to 15 dual autographed cards (#’d t0 25).  Three double sided cards will be issued featuring six autographs that (#’d to 5).  Up to 25 mini astrographs (#’d to 10) will also give collectors of the popular mini cards Geno Smith Topps Magic Rookie Autographsomething to chase.

Up to 10 booklets (#’d to 5) will be manufactured with two signatures of two players. 25 of the hottest rookies will have jumbo relic cards issued (#’d to 99) with a patch parallel (#’d to 5).
