Remember that World Cup final soccer ball we wrote about last week? Insured for $1 million? Turns out that wasn't enough.
The soccer ball used in the World Cup final between Italy and France and autographed by members of the winning Italian team was sold in a charity auction in Qatar over the weekend for $2.4 million.
Benefitting from the sale of the ball was "Reach Out to Asia" which raises money for educational programs. Former President Bill Clinton was among the guests at the big event.
The ball got a boost when the agent for Formula One racer Michael Schumacher tossed in his client's race-used uniform (Europeans are crazy for two things in sports: Schumacher and soccer).
