Topps is bringing back its Blue Wave Refractor Parallel redemption program. The special cards were also part of the base Bowman brand this year.
The company says collectors who send in 36 2012 Bowman Chrome Baseball packs (hobby and/or retail) when the product releases this month, will receive a free 5-card cello pack of Blue Wave Refractor parallel cards. Topps has printed 110 different players but bonus autographed cards have been randomly inserted into packs, featuring hot prospects such as Jorge Soler, Billy Hamilton, Ronald Guzman, Tyler Austin and others.
The wrapper redemption program will be limited to 10,000 cello packs, so in order to receive your packs, Topps is encouraging collectors to get their wrappers sent in quickly. This time, however, you won’t be able to get more than five packs per household. The first time, Topps' stock was quickly depleted as case breakers sent in hundreds of wrappers, leaving collectors in the cold.
Any packages postmarked earlier than October 17, 2012, the official street date, will not be accepted. “If you abuse, you lose,” the company stated in a promotional release for the Blue Wave cards.
