Ninety-six cards will sit inside boxes of 2011 Topps Chrome football when they hit store shelves this fall. Collectors who take the plunge will be guaranteed at least one rookie card per pack and one autographed rookie card per box. Will it be worth the price that's likely to start at around $75 per box? That question might not be answered until we get a look at this season's rookie crop in action.
Topps will bank on the first year players for '11 Chrome, putting 110 rookies and 110 veterans in its base set and highlighting 45 different players on autograph cards, some of which will be on card and others on stickers. All of the autographed cards will have refractor parallels, ranging from 1-1 Superfractors to the more common 1-99 signed cards.
Each box of 2011 Chrome will contain nine parallel cards and nine inserts in addition to the one guaranteed autograph.
There will be 36 different rookie autograph patch cards with Triple Autograph rookie cards numbered to 10, dual rookie autographs numbered to 25 and autograph rookie variations done in a Rainbow Refractor style.
