2009 Topps Chrome Will Include WBC Standouts

Topps’ upcoming product has a United Nations flavor.

2009 Topps Chrome David Wright 2009 Topps Chrome Baseball will be released in late July with the company promising a host of international players who participated in the World Baseball Classic.

In addition to a lineup of MLB stars who suited up for Team USA, foreign stars Yu Darvish (Japan), Norichika Aoki (Japan), Hisashi Iwakuma (Japan), Masahiro Tanaka (Japan), Yoennis Cespedes (Cuba) and Aroldis Chapman (Cuba) will be among 100 different WBC players having cards in this year’s set.

Topps has guaranteed two autographed rookie cards per box with signers including prospects Matt LaPorta, Koji Uehara and Elvis Andrus. There are 23 in all.
